What we collect, what we use it for, how long we keep it, and how you can have it removed.
What we collect
When you register for membership we collect your name, email address, phone number, country and state of residence, and your connection to Australia. Date of birth and gender are optional.
Anything in your professional profile — employer, position, education, skills — is added only if you choose to add it.
What we use it for
To maintain your membership, record payments, manage event registrations and remind you when your term is ending. We do not sell your information or share it for advertising.
Who can see it
In the member directory, only the fields you have chosen to share are visible, and you set that per field. Your date of birth and gender are shown to you alone — never to another member and never in the directory. Society staff can see registration records as part of running the membership.
How long we keep it
Membership and payment records are kept for 7 years after a membership ends, to meet financial and reporting obligations. Profile information is kept until you remove it or close your account.
Your rights
You can view, correct or delete your information at any time from the Member Area, and you can withdraw newsletter consent whenever you like. To have your account deleted entirely, contact us at the address below — everything except the financial records we are required to keep will be removed.
Security
Passwords are stored hashed and cannot be recovered. We never store card details — payments are handled by the payment provider.
